Love is Life is a poppy, poetic celebration of love from singer-songwriter Rachel D’Arcy. Catchy, intoxicating and full of evocative twists. The lo-fi acoustic arrangement and understated production places Rachel’s rich, distinctive vocal centre stage. Her playful phrasing ‘Love lights, love fights, love leaps… from great heights’ and soaring melodic hooks give the song an irresistibly sunny demeanour and feel good factor.

Composed for short film SPARK, Rachel teamed up with award winning, platinum producer Alexander Wells via South London’s eclectic open mic scene at The Joiners Arms in Camberwell.

Discussing the release Rachel D’Arcy explains:

'I developed my sound by collaborating with lots of different artists, from nu jazz ensemble The Cinematic Orchestra to live drum and bass producer Septabeat and amazing jazz musicians like Mark Kavuma, Tom Driessler and Artie Zaitz who all feature on my forthcoming album. 'Love is Life' has taken my songwriting in a new direction and it definitely has a more optimistic tone. I made the video during lockdown and keeping creative really helped raise my spirits. I hope it brings a bit of happiness into the world and will make people smile.'

'Love is Life' follows Rachel’s debut EP ‘Dance For You’ which included music she composed for ITV’s popular ‘Inspector Morse’ prequel ‘Endeavour’. Fans of her critically acclaimed performance as nightclub chanteuse Lila Pilgrim and new listeners alike, will be delighted by this latest musical offering: a beguiling summer anthem and new chapter for the ever evolving Rachel D’Arcy.
